An investigation by CBS12 in West Palm Beach has revealed that nursing home abuse cases are not being properly reported to the police.  Plus, they dive into a tragic story of nursing home abuse at Lake Worth Manor which now operates under the name Oasis Health and Rehabilitation located in Lake Worth, Florida. As detailed in the above segment, Nursing Home abuse is happening right now in our own community.  Even worse, cases of nursing home abuse may never get reported to proper authorities.

NURSING HOME NIGHTMARES: A CBS12 (WPEC) INVESTIGATION

According to CBS12 in West Palm Beach, residents in nursing homes are being abused, including sexually, and there is a lack of reporting to police.  In support of their investigation, CBS12 noted that 1 in 4 abuse cases across the nation go unreported.  This is per the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.  The Officer of Inspector General for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has uncovered at least 134 cases of abuse at nursing homes that did not get reported to police and 80% of those involved suspected rape or sexual abuse.

LOCAL NURSING HOME ASSISTANT FIRED FOR FACEBOOK POST

Signature Healthcare of Palm Beach has fired a nursing assistant for posting on Facebook.  It is reported that the nursing assistant requested help from Florida Governor Rick Scott and from power company, Florida Power & Light, after Hurricane Irma.  By asking for help on Facebook, the nursing assistant was allegedly fired.  Read the shocking reason for why Signature Healthcare of Palm Beach claims they fired the nursing assistant.
