Allegations: An individual was on the premises of Edgewater at Boca Pointe on April 3, 2015 when a large, unleashed Great Dane dog ran full speed towards the individual caused her to fall hard onto the ground resulting in serious injuries.

RESULT: Case disposed by Settlement in 2016.

Allegations: The Resident was admitted to Willowbrooke Court Skilled Care Center – Edgewater at Boca Pointe on January 7, 2009. The Facility was negligent in its care for falling to protect the Resident from falling and being injured by falls in the facility. As a result, the Resident fell on numerous occasions and suffered serious injury. She further suffered serious burn injuries when she was left in the dining room without appropriate care and supervision as soup was served to her which spilled and caused her to be burned.

RESULT: Case went to Trial with a Jury Verdict in favor of Edgewater at Boca Pointe on August 29, 2012.
