August 22, 2014: Mary C Davis Plaintiff vs. 2401 NE 2nd Street Operations, LLC, et al Defendant
Allegations: In December 2011, the Resident was admitted to Seaview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for skilled nursing and rehabilitative care. On August 30, 2012, the Resident fractured her hip as a result of a fall that occurred at the nursing home. The Resident was transported to the Holy Cross Medical Center Emergency Room where an x-ray determined an abnormal left hip. Specifically, the x-rays of her pelvis and hip demonstrated a central fracture dislocation of the left acetabulum. The Facility did not provide appropriate fall preventative measures to the Resident. Given the age of the Resident, surgery to repair the hip was not a viable option and she had to continue through the end stages of life with a left acetabular fracture with intraepelvic protrusion.
