Allegations: The Resident was admitted to Plantation Nursing & Rehabilitation Center from April 5, 2012 through August 1, 2012 and November 8, 2012 through December 27, 2012. On May 22, 2012, the Facility’s notes indicate that the Plaintiff developed a Stage II pressure ulcer on her coccyx which on May 28, 2012 measured 1.2 x 1 x 0.1 and described as “new.” On November 16, 2012 her records indicate a left buttocks shear measuring 7.5 x 2.5 cm and right buttocks shear measuring 1 x 0.6 cm as well as a Stage II blister on right heel. On December 21, 2012 her left buttock wound measured 7.5 x 5.2 x 0.2 cm and her right buttock wound measured 0.9 x 0.7 x 0.2 cm. The Resident developed these pressure ulcers and skin breakdown, her ski condition worsened and she suffered infections and an injurious fall. Due to the injuries, the Resident wrongfully died.

The Resident remained in a vegetative state from the date of the accident to the date of his death on March 28, 2013.
