Allegations: While at Deerfield Beach Health and Rehabilitation Center, the staff and employees failed to develop an adequate care plan and properly monitor and supervise the care and treatment provided to the Resident in order to prevent him from suffering the development and deterioration of wounds, infection, and sepsis. As a result, the Resident wrongfully died on November 19, 2016.

As a direct result, the Resident suffered from pressure sores and septic shock and ultimately death.

Allegations: While at Deerfield Beach Health and Rehabilitation Center, the Resident’s May 29, 2014 lab work revealed that the Resident was suffering from hyperkalemia and was scheduled for transportation for her routine dialysis. The Facility cancelled the Resident’s dialysis and instead was rescheduled for dialysis. On the morning of June 11, 2014, the Resident coded and died before dialysis was ever performed.
RESULT: Case went to Arbitration where the Resident obtained a $1,064,502.49 judgment from the Facility as ordered by the Court on April 26, 2016.
