Allegations: The Resident was admitted to the V.A. (Veterans’ Affairs) nursing home in June of 2011 where his skin was intact and he was free from infection. During his admission, the Resident was neglected by the employees and suffered from skin breakdown (pressure sores), unnecessary hospitalizations and infections. He also had his feeding tube clogged. Due to the neglect at the Facility, the Resident was forced to endure multiple amputations prior to his death including a surgical amputation of two toes due to infection, a subsequent toe amputation and an entire left below-the-knee amputation. The aforementioned injuries plagued the Resident from the date of injury until the date of his death.
