Allegations: On January 31, 2016, the Resident was admitted to Manor Oaks Nursing & Rehabilitation Center following a hospitalization. The Resident required assistance with her health care specifically with wound care. The Facility knew the Resident was suffering from decubiti ulcers on her lower extremities which required daily wound care. The Resident was not seen or evaluated by a wound care specialist until February 17, 2016. Admitting physician orders and the care plan directed a wound consult upon admission. On March 2, 2016, the Resident was transferred to a hospital and eventually transferred to Hospice Care until she ultimately expired on March 19, 2016 from complication of gangrene and sepsis caused by the inappropriate wound care she received while a Resident at the Facility.
